Heads are player skulls with a custom texture.
Obtainability
There have been many ways to place heads throughout the history of Skyblock. The most well known of these is placing minion heads on hard glass (Sand Collection 7)
After a head was placed on hard glass or just placed in general, the player could place water so it flowed into the player head. It would turn into an item, and if picked up with a hopper would turn the head into an item called 'head' with the texture of whatever head was washed. You could then place that head item wherever you desire. If picked up without hopper it would become Steve null. As of August 19, 2020, heads cannot be washed/picked up with water, meaning that currently there is no way to move heads safely, as any mined simply become Steve head nulls.
Radiant orbs can be placed by shift right clicking onto a chest, anvil, or hopper. It also works with Maddox Bat Phones, Manaflux's Overflux's and Plasma fluxes
